What is a Class 1 HGV driver?
A Class 1 HGV driver holds a Category C+E driving licence, allowing them to drive articulated lorries over 7.5 tonnes with a trailer. They are required to hold a valid Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) and a Digital Tachograph card, and must complete 35 hours of periodic CPC training every five years to remain qualified.
